[Katrina-IT-Volunteers] KEYE news story Friday night

Fred Cantu and his cameraman were at our DeWitty Center offices and
labs yesterday and interviewed me briefly.

He seemed especially interested in how the
Katrina shelter focused attention on the advantages of the internet
and e-mail for a population (evacuees) that may not have seen a reason
for learning about it before.

It's supposed to air Friday night on the KEYE 42 news as part of a
lead in to a story about the World Conference on Information
Technology here in Austin next week.

Also, I checked out one of the AMD personal internet communicators to
him (those tiny little computers used in the shelter).  He's a gadget
guy and was very interested in them.  So you may see one of those on
the news item as well.
