The shelter was down below 800 people this morning, and might be
below 700 people now.

A few folks were writing e-mail and doing family searches this
evening. But there were a whole lot of kids with a whole lot of
energy to spare. While we still need folks to help with the computer
stuff, one of the volunteers this evening was trying to get some YMCA
folks hooked up with the shelter to give the kids some more positive
ways to burn off the energy. Hopefully the connections will be made
tomorrow.

The kids are starting to play games to the machines. Mouse balls are
starting to disappear, and a couple of the machines had passwords
installed on them. In the case of the passwords, you can do a hard
reset on the machines by sticking a paper clip in the hold at the
back of the machines near the power cord. If you feel around a bit,
you can find the switch inside. You'll then have to power the machine
off/on. A message appears when it's resetting itself on startup. If
it starts getting out-of-hand, we could put our own passwords on the
machines. But that means an IT person has to be around whenever a
machine is rebooted.

Meanwhile, I found out as I was leaving that the portable basketball
hoops are now in the loading dock.

The Free-Net portable printer is up in a box in M8, near the Macs. At
least before the next room re-organization....
