[Katrina-IT-Volunteers] Do relatives know how to contact them?

I've found out that sometimes an evacuee will tell me they know where their
relatives are, and they are already in the database. But when I ask
further, "Do they know how to contact you?", they so no. It is so
important to ask this and get their contact info (P.O. Box, free phone info,
email address) into the databases.

I have been told that the intake entry form and the Katrina Safe website are
just different interfaces to the same database. But the redcross.org Family
Registry is different. I believe they transfer data from the City database
to redcross one.

But in any event, we should get people to try to put their contact info in
both places, since it is unknown at the time they go through intake. If the
system won't allow them to update their info, ask them to come back in 24
hours.
