This link here takes you to a webapp that gives you
flood depth information just by clicking on a map of
New Orleans. It uses Google maps combined with
satellite and LIDAR data to give an average flood
depth within a 100x100 foot region around the point
where you click.

If you're using the public computers to help people
check on their neighborhoods, this link might be
helpful, since it gives you a real number instead of
just fuzzy satellite photos. I know Google Maps was
being kind of skitchy Tuesday night, not sure if that
was a problem with Google's site or with the app
itself, so YMMV.

I spot-checked it with my brother's eyewitness report
of the water depth at his house in Old Metairie and it
was pretty close to accurate.

Good luck.
