Wondering if anyone has done something similar...
I got a request to put together a website to sign up volunteers to help
evacuees from Katrina in Houston. The goal is to put up a website where
someone could
1)See what events still need volunteers
2)Enter their name, phone #, contact info, email address, and click the
open event(s) they would like to volunteer for
3)get an email confirming their registration
4)admin could go in and email groups
5)admin could go in and print registration info
I found the GPL'd My Signup Sheet
http://www.fuzzymonkey.org/cgi-bin/newfuzzy/software.cgi
It's almost perfect, does 1, 2, & 3.
I am in the process of adding 4 & 5, and then I ask - how many volunteers
are they looking for?
1000 per event
3 events per day
5 days
15,000 - so emailing really needs to be in a mailing list....
So, any suggestions? Hack mailman or some other mailing list to store
the extra info in it? Anyone ever do anything like this?
TIA,
-Keith
