Dear Neighbor, 

Since the moment Katrina blew into our lives she changed our world and that of our brothers and sisters on the Gulf Coast forever. Like Katrina we have the capacity to make a huge impact, only this time, for the better. 

On October 29, The George Washington Carver Culture Center at 1165 Angelina Street will host "Poets for Relief - Speak Up, Look Up, Rise Up" a spoken word showcase and reception to benefit the victims of Katrina. The showcase will spotlight more than twenty of the hottest spoken word artists in the state and feature the release of the "SPEAK UP, LOOK UP, RISE UP!" CD.

100% of the proceeds from the show, the Silent Auction, CD sales and t-shirt sales wil go to a family adopted through Foundation Communities in Austin, TX. Please visit us at www.poetsforrelief.org for all the details of this special event.
