How to Set Up Eudora (versions 6.2 or 7.0) Email

This note describes the procedure to set up Eudora to work with the SoAustin.Net mail server. The procedure is illustrated with screenshots from Eudora 6.2. However, the procedure also applies to Eudora version 7.0, since the setup for the two versions is remarkably similar.

How to Set Up Microsoft Outlook Express 6 Email

This note describes the procedure to setup Microsoft Outlook Express version 6 to work with the SoAustin.Net mail server. There are three parts to this procedure:

  • Basic Email Account Setup
  • Secure Email Account Settings
  • Import Email Server Certificate

Don't fret! This procedure looks long because we've illustrated it step-by-step. The third part, for example, looks like it has a lot of steps, but mostly it's just clicking through to accept the default selection.

Your Mailbox and Email Addresses

You will receive an email mailbox with your SoAustin account. The address of this emailbox will be username@soaustin.net, where username is your account username.

If we are hosting your domain, you will several additional email addresses that deliver to your mailbox. Your main email address will be yourname@yourdomain. That is the email address you probably will use.

How to Set Up Your Email

This page describes how to set up your computer to receive email from your account on SoAustin.net.

Before you begin you will need three things:

  1. The email address that we assigned to you.
  2. Your SoAustin account username. This typically is the part of your email address on the left of the "@" sign.
  3. The account password we initially assigned to you. We strongly urge you, before setting up email, to change this password to one that you choose. Click the "Change your password" link in the left sidebar.
