Step Zero: Your Mailing List OptionsThis page describes mailing list options at SoAustin.net. Our mailing list? Or your mailing list? It's up to you. If you've got an existing one set up elsewhere, you might want to leave it in place. But, if you don't have one and want one, or do have one and aren't satisfied with it, we'll be happy to set one up for you. We set up a mailing list by giving it a name and an initial set of subscribers, which you will need to provide. Initially, everyone is sent email welcoming them to the new list, and giving them a password for the list. At that time, they're given the option to unsubscribe if they wish. They can also unsubscribe automatically, at any time, by going to the appropriate entry on the mailing list page. Of course, you may add, change, or delete users at any time by going to the mailing list admininstration page. Two final points to note: our mailing lists are ad-free; and, we never, ever, supply the names of subscribers to the mailing lists to anyone else. (A lot more documentation about the mailing list software we use is available in two forms: one that is tailored for subscribers, and one that is t ailored for mailing list administrators; but in most cases, you won't really need to refer to these.)
